- Bharat Dynamics limited (BDL), is a Government of India Enterprise
under the Ministry of Defence and a manufacturer of Surface to Air Missile (SAM), Anti -
Tank Guided Missile (ATGM ), Torpedoes, and Allied Defence Equipment.
- The company has three manufacturing units, located at
Kanchanbagh, Hyderabad in Telangana State, Bhanur, Sangareddy District in Telangana
State and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
- BDL is in the process of setting up facilities at Amaravati, Maharashtra, lbrahimpatnam, Telangana and Jhansi (UP).
- The company has objective to become self-reliant and competitive in Guided Missile and Underwater Guided
Weapon Technology and Production.
- 8DL Signed MoU with UPEIDA (Urt.ir Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority) to set up manufacturing facility for propulsion system which will be used for various types of missiles manufactured by the Company.
- Management says there is no plan for disinvestment of govt. stake currently.
- BDL signed MoU with M/s.HEMRL for Consultancy service for establishment of EDS propellant facility at Jhansi, UP.
- The company is working toward reducing the import content and by 2025-26 it will be 10-15%.

- Received supply order for Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) valued 278.63 Crore from Indian
Navy, MoD.
- Received supply order for Astra Mark-I missiles, Launchers and associated equipment's valued 81.95 Crore
from Indian Air force, MoD.
- Received supply order for Akash missiles worth 502..81 Crore from lndianAir force.
- Total order book as of June 2022 is 12,000Cr, including 2520Cr received during april-june qtr. As the company says, anticipated orders in pipeline worth 20,000Cr.

- Revenue from operation was 2817Cr from 1914Cr, up by 47% for FY22 and For Q1 FY23 it was 695Cr, up from 129Cr, by 439%
- Profit after tax was 500Cr from 258Cr up by 94% for Q1 FY22, and for Q1 FY23, it was 40Cr against a loss of 21Cr in Q1 22.
- Management has guided a revenue of 3200-3500 Cr for FY23, Margins would be 22-23% for coming quarters,
- With current geopolitical tensions, it is expected that Indian government will increase more defence spending, and part of it has been already announced, some are in pipeline.
- Overall I see a good growth in numbers of defence companies, and especially BDL will see a huge up rise in topline and bottomline for next couple of years.
- BDL has an established position as a prime production agency for guided weapon systems to Indian armed forces, which resulting in more and more orderbook every qtr.
